When Dr. Jonathan Leary opened the first Remedy Place in West Hollywood circa 2019, the new social wellness club drew an abundance of celebrities: Rita Ora, Kacey Musgraves, Sean White, Kim Kardashian. With a second location in Flatiron, the wellness brand seems prime to do it all again in the Big Apple.
But will busy New Yorkers adapt to the two-floor monochromatic 7,200-square-foot “toxin and temptation-free space”? Remedy Place is betting on it.
The club’s experiences include the world’s first commercialized breathwork ice bath class, hyperbaric chambers, a signature chiropractic experience, cupping and acupuncture, functional medicine and plenty of holistic treatments. Its monthly memberships range from $595 to $2,750, but visitors to the club can book à la carte services.
Already spotted taking a plunge in the wellness club’s ice bath, Kim Kardashian, whose sister, Kourtney, held Remedy Place’s first-ever wellness pop-up in her California home.
Dr. Leary, no stranger to celebrity patients, spent a lifetime as a global concierge wellness doctor treating the music, film and sports industries, as well as C-suite executives, before a round of funding made his dream of opening Remedy Place come true.
With a valuation of $60 million, New York seems to be the first step in a much larger expansion.
“We will go well beyond these Los Angeles and New York City,” Dr. Leary told the Luxury Examiner. “Our plan is to do two to three new clubs a year in every major city around the world and we cannot wait to announce all of our new locations in the works.”
